About Us

It is the responsibility of all NHSGGC staff to ensure that everyone who works for or uses the health service is treated fairly. Specific teams have also been set up to take forward the work around Equalities in Health:

Corporate Inequalities Team

The role of the Corporate Inequalities Team (CIT) is to help the organisation develop a way of working which is sensitive to inequalities in health. This includes the development of policy, monitoring and performance frameworks and new, effective ways of changing practice.

CIT Current Activities

Equality and Diversity Team

This team aims to help NHSGGC staff understand the broad range of health inequalities that are faced by patients on the basis of their race, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation and religion. It supports staff in developing the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to promote equality of access to health services.
